Spanish 1715 Fleet, Reproduction 4 Reales cob.
Mexico City: 1715 โ€œJโ€. Philip V. Neat New Style.
This artisan reproduction looks so authentic, it makes the perfect budget friendly silver cob for jewelry, collection, or a cool way to stack, one of a kind silver bullion.
Each piece is hammer struck, from dies that were traditionally hand sunk by a artisan die sinker. They are NOT cast, and the dies are not laser engraved, or CNC cut. The dies were made in house using hand carved punches, the traditional way, and carefully placed by hand into the coin stamping dies exactly like, and to the exact specs of the originals. It took months of pain staking effort to do each die. We are literally one of the last few minting houses that still knows and practices the secrets of the die sinkers of old.
The coins are made from pouring bars of silver, or gold, which are then hammered flat, carefully cut, and struck by hand with the dies to the exact specs of the originals, only we use pure silver rather than the old 93%. The result is the highest quality reproduction you will ever find. And, no two coins look identical, thus each coin is totally unique to you.

Because of this process, each coin will vary in shape, size and appearance, so please allow for slight variation in each piece. If you have wishes or demands, just add them to the notes in your order. IE "Rounder coin", "chunky coin", "off-set strike", "doubled-strike" etc.

"MINT" means that the coin comes with the typical shiney silver luster, where "AGED" means we add a patina to the finished coin to give it a look of being old. "AS STRUCK" means that the blank planchet is placed upon the dies without any care given to where, or what will be embossed when struck. This is a good option for those wishing for a reproduction more true to the originals, as the originals where struck this way. "DATED" means that the coin will show the 1715 date upon your coin. "SHARP" means that the coin will show the 1715 date upon your coin, and will be struck multiple times for maximum impression, with sharp details.
"WHITE METAL" reproductions are struck in a lead free, "pewter". These are ideal for museum display, game play, film props, etc. They are traditionally stuck.
These exact pieces have been used in television and film, and are also used in a few museum displays around the world.

Please note we are only open Friday- Sunday. If an order is ahead of yours, we will notify you with an estimate in time to ship. Everything is made to order. So please be patient, especially with more complex orders. We understand you may be excited. But bombarding us with emails every day about an update does not make the process go any faster. Rest assured. Your order will ship as soon as it is finished. We thank you for your patience in advance. Good results can take time.
If you lack patience, and donโ€™t like waiting, we may not be the right fit for you, and suggest you go buy a cheap replica elsewhere.
