Seville: Spanish 2 Reales, Yoke & Arrows Treasure Coin
$35.00 Sold out
The first coins brought to the new world for use were the famous Yoke and Arrows variety of king and queen, Ferdinand and Isabella. The royal catholic monarchs, who united Spain were also the rulers who funded Christopher Columbus's voyage to the new world.
Columbus landed in the Bahamas, on an island he named San Salvador.
This coin, struck from retouched vintage dies is a classic thin and very round coin featuring the Spanish shield of the time and yoke and arrows on its reverse.
A very cool design and a great piece for pendants.
